Trevor, collusion, really? So the player and team, which didn't draft him, colluded so that he refused to not sign with one but two teams and face a deal to the Rangers, got it. Yes, his family are season ticket holders but he is not the first player who failed to sign with the team that drafted him. In addition, far from the first player who rooted for one team growing up and was drafted by another. But that word - collude - indicates intent, which I don't think was the case. |

Of course this is just speculation, but let’s just throw a definition of collusion out there for the layman. I’m just claiming that the two players going to New York in the way they did seems like collusion. Definitely not saying that it was or is collusion.
Collusion; a deceitful agreement or secret cooperation between two or more parties to limit open competition by deceiving, misleading or defrauding others of their legal right. Collusion is not always considered illegal.

I don’t really care about this but you’re suggesting there could have been but might not be but maybe a deceitful agreement or secret cooperation between two or more parties to limit open competition by deceiving, misleading or defrauding others of their legal right in the Adam fox situation

Let me throw this out. Lets say Fox, since day 1, never intended to play for any team but the Rangers. Now to go back to the definition of collusion there has to be 2 parties here. He was that infant whose die hard Rangers parents dressed him in Rangers onesie’s. This is Fox and Fox alone. The Rangers just happened to luck out on it. |

You can only speculate about collusion, I'm not aware of any evidence.
Lots of shady players in the NHL, some are more obvious than others. Sam Bennett went beast mode in the playoffs, then shut it down in the season because they put him on a line he disliked, goes to Florida and lights it up.
The Fox situation does look real bad, but we can't know for sure. The best way to go about it, is to close that loop hole at NHL GM meetings. Then you turn Fox into "that guy" who ended the college player loop hole. I'd send enforcers after Fox tonight, and I'd also send them after Bennett. Fox should at least be targeted with heaving body checking. |

The Monahan situation is worrying. Seems like Sam Bennett 2.0 and makes the organization look bad, if he's relegated to the 3rd/4th line permanently. I know he gets shifts with Gaudreau/Lindholm but I'd prefer if one of his wingers was Coleman or Mangiapane, or on the wing with Backlund. I think Sutter said he put Pitlick on that line to ease him in, but he's basically a scrub and I'd rather see Monahan learn from Backlund.
Mangiapane on the 4th is also WTF.. |

The NCAA rule is possibly the dumbest in sports. How they haven’t been able to negotiate that out of the CBA is beyond me.

Some people take this site too seriously.
Trevor, good job on pissing off the kind and loveable people of New York city.
All you Rangers fans can keep your tissues as you still need them, your thread has seen more tears from Kravtsov leaving than we ever did with Fox.
Hypocrites and sore losers the whole lot of you.

The Erixon situation was shady, and possibly collusion but who cares, he didn't amount to anything. All Fox had to do was play one more year at Harvard and he'd of been a ufa anyway. Both Calgary and Carolina got something for him rather than let him play out his time in college. Fox did everything right imo. |
